Metroparent About Us
Published 12 times each year, Metroparent is distributed to and available free at about 950 locations in southeastern Wisconsin, including hospitals, schools and day care centers, grocery stores, libraries, retailers, medical offices and recreation locations.
Every month, Metroparent's pages are filled with useful articles on topics of interest to parents, from having a baby to choosing a summer camp to getting ready for college.
In addition to the monthly magazine, Metroparent also publishes several other ancillary guides and directories, including New Baby, School Smarts, Birthday Bash, Family Resource Guide, Winter Wonder, Summer Sun and Healthy Family.
Metroparent is an award-winning publication with the Parenting Media Association.

Metroparentmagazine.com started as MilwaukeeMoms.com in 2002 as a resource and networking community for parents raising kids ages 0-13 years. The site was purchased by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in 2006 and is a vital part of the Journal Interactive group of websites as a one-of-kind, centralized resource for its comprehensive presentation of time-saving information for everyone raising children. The site was renamed to metroparentmagazine.com in 2013.

Amy Schwabe grew up on the south side of Milwaukee, and now lives in Franklin with her husband and two daughters, ages 12 and 8.
Amy graduated from Marquette University with a degree in political science and has a background analyzing government finances and researching school and local government policies.
She started writing about parenting issues as a way to advocate for her older daughter, who has severe food allergies, in 2012, and has been passionate about writing ever since.
